Akatarawa Qigong Retreat (27-29 March 2009)
Hello Vlado,
My thoughts on the retreat:
I do recommend
to people to come for a challenge – are they ready to do something
about their lives or health? Or are they content with just living
day to day as they are, without really understanding the
fundamentals of life and how they can change their health. I do
think it was the biggest challenge for me, of my whole life. I had
never gone away by myself let alone to challenge my health. My
negatives were always there, my fears of failure, my fear of
weakness. It is far too easy to do nothing, to always have an
excuse. But listening to you, by saying don’t run away… as hard it
is to swim to shore, one can do it. And I thank you and Shona by
showing me the way, by giving me the tools to show me my own
strength. This is the start of my own voyage to the shore.
With warmest of qi
"Hi Vlado and Shona,
Warm regards

"Hello Vlado,
The retreat we had in the Akatarawas was very good and the speed in which a felt better was very good. The food was not the easiest to digest, however quite remarkably I noticed that my digestion improved alot even after 2 days.
Thank you I enjoyed it and it was very worth while I understand that we must help ourselves to help others. There is a possibility of an infinite amount we can learn in this life sometimes referred to as a minimal chance. Renxue Qigong is the first time I have ever seen a proper method that opens up that minimal chance.
All the best Thank you again.

"I was fortunate in attending The Akatarawa Retreat organised by Yourself and Shona. Thank You both for making my time there worthwhile and one to remember. Enjoyed my practice and it was good to see and meet other Students. Yuan Tze and Melissa's presence topped of an Excellent Learning experience.
Kind Regards.

"Hi Shona and Vlado
The Qigong retreat was fantastic. My
cold was cut out in a couple of days. I had a lovely sleep on
Saturday (no blocked nose, no coughs, etc.). On Sunday morning
I was just fine as usual.
It was a great exercise for my muscles too.
My mind relaxed and my brain was extra charged – I was ready to
start the day at 4-5 am in the morning.
To me this qigong retreat was a wrap-up of
what a great being I can have and what a nimble glowing me I can be
if I want for the simple charge of an hour or so qigong practice a
day. No matter if the exercises were easy and relaxing or
strenuous and challenging, what I felt afterwards was worth it.
Thank you for making me stop my everyday
‘corporate’ rush, opening for me that door to a parallel world of
calm awareness, helping me set the ground for understanding and
peaceful relationship with me myself and the rest of the world.
Thank you for the Qi-photo – I have it now
pinned above my computer at work.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and patience,
Aneta
"Hi Vlado, I really enjoyed the retreat. I liked how the days were planned and both you and Shona facilitated the sessions with great, calm, qi. I learnt alot and it encouraged me to practise more at home.
If you do another retreat I would definitely try to get there. The accommodation was fine I appreciate that you keep the costs down by choosing accommodation that is not too expensive. The food was ok too.
thanks, Miriam"
"Dear Vlado and Shona,
Thank you for all your organization and your shining example,
your excellent teaching and thorough care for us all. I feel
rested – not a bit sore or stiff, and I know I need to get into more
regular practice to increase and sustain the effects.
I came away with an increased appreciation of what Qigong is, a
desire to improve and deepen my practice, and a better idea of what
I need to do to achieve that. I feel I have just approached the
edges of real practice, particularly the mindful part. I have
also come away – especially after being with Yuan Tze – with a
desire to read more and understand better.
Till the next meeting
Arohanui,
Helen
